Precognition
01:02
|
|||
put on trial, put to test.
been down this beaten track
in search of cause and effect.
time stands still.
still on a quest
to calculate calamity,
find its creator
- contest.

Reconcile
01:03
|
|||
memories frozen in place,
by the second they're melting away.
my vision's blurred, a glacial stare,
growing cold, growing more aware.
can't tell a tear from a drop,
I stare into a bitter puddle of regret.
fooled myself once, shame on who?
and I just can't seem to forget…
my throat is aching
and I can't seem to catch my breath
but the time is now,
in life, until death....
I'm taking revenge on myself.

Serenity National Park
02:03
|
|||
the front porch is the place
where I'll settle and die.
the world passes by
a ride a minute to measure a mile.
at the table outside
is where I'll spend my life.
a person a moment,
another process, another side.
sleep deprived I'll take the climb,
ascend out of a hell devised.
take the voyage, take the trek
away from any one regret.
I'll run against the wind,
steadfast against the interference.
treading water under burning bridges,
paddling upstream, a scene recurrent.
difficult to attain,
thoughtfully embraced.
forged an escape plan
towards this sacred place.
discovered a temple to revere
and another one to burn down.
I've destroyed and rebuilt
and come to terms with lessons learned.
between the trees is where I rest my eyes,
another waking moment beyond my mind.

Golden Rule
01:12
|
|||
I watched you burn the evidence
and disconnect from reality
and wipe your conscience clean.
blindfolded, intentionally disillusioned.
in your fantasy world
you turn swine into pearls.
a lifetime reduced to a moment of your pleasure.
your verdict: execution,
reached within mere seconds.

Birthright
01:51
|
|||
somewhere along the line
I found peace within, yet the beast got in.
it feels like I'm running out of time,
but my clocks stopped ticking last night.
toxic comfort in ill-being,
I've been here before.
it's a fight every day, physically drained,
my mind is wide awake.
failed attempts to find meaning,
effort denial's too deceiving.
disarranged belongingness
in a culture of despair and distress.
an initial abundance of chance
thieved by circumstance.
yet I re-strive for a sense of self
and I'm taking back any hint of...
a birthright,
of which we've been deprived.
and I'm planning on reclaiming
what's mine.

The Drought
02:54
|
|||
the seeds were planted
before our time,
now the bed's gone stale
and these stems aren't mine.
an observation of a lack of growth
in a while.
the leaves have turned, they're falling one by one,
rotting in a pile.
this poisoned Eden, fading eternal youth.
a spitting image of your rejected truth.
collectively we sought after flourishing,
what could've been an awakening.
and in the end...
we're birds of the same feather,
we flock together,
but we only pick out the seeds
we individually need.
